At 11:00 am, the temperature near the top of Brighton's Crest chairlift was 21 degrees. Winds at the top of Brighton's Great Western chairlift are averaging 9 mph out of the north with gusts to 19. In the last 24 hours, the snow depth near the top of Brighton's Crest chairlift has decreased 2 inches. In the last 2 weeks, the depth has increased 13 inches.

Forecast Conditions

The forecast says that today, from 5:00 am to 5:00 pm, no new snow is expected. The daytime high temperature will be 36 degrees. And from 5:00 pm today until 5:00 am tomorrow, there is a 20 percent chance of a trace. The nighttime low temperature will be 24 degrees.

Avalanche Advisory

The Utah Avalanche Center's bottom-line avalanche advisory for the Salt Lake area on Tuesday, March 27, says, "The avalanche danger will rise to CONSIDERABLE for wet loose avalanches at the mid and upper elevation steep east through west facing terrain. You'll find an isolated MODERATE danger for deep slabs at upper elevation northwest through east facing terrain. LOW danger elsewhere. Loose dry avalanches, and shallow wind slabs can be triggered today, especially at the upper elevation northerly facing terrain. Even a small slide is serious if a ride would carry you off a cliff, into trees or down a long, icy slope."
